The Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer (SMILE) space observatory will launch tomorrow May 19, at 7:52 UTC, from EuropeSpacePort in French Guiana.
SMILE will study the magnetosphere of the Earth in soft X-rays and UV, improving the understanding of the dynamic interaction between the solar wind and Earth's magnetosphere.
The SMILE mission is a collaboration between ESA and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
