@cstross you know, you could at least stop drawing on current events while writing in the past as I'm reading "The Annihilation Score", since so many previous books have been so close to current events, as this one is...
I just wish we had some superheroes right now, even though I suspect we'd be totally fucked by them. Especially since I'm not through the book yet.
I honestly don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point.

@emag Yeah? I wrote that one in 2013-ish. (For more relevance, "The Apocalypse Codex" was written in 2009, riffing on the happy fun people behind the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025, who have been around for a *long* time …)
@cstross the number of times I've done a doubletake, said "wow, fuck!", and then verified just how long ago you wrote these is definitely in the double digits now. It's... Disturbing to be reminded we've been in the FO era for so long.
