@thomasfuchs I like a button that looks like a button, and that doesn't disappear if my mouse isn't hovering over it.
@thomasfuchs Something I've cooked up for current thing, pure CSS
Fwiw, in design trends since the early 2000s buttons seem to have gone from glassy "pill" shapes (think Mac OS X "Aqua") over flat design shapes (Windows 😄 to "no shape at all" (just text, e.g. iOS 7), back to flat design with very round corners (lots of websites these days) and lately (e.g. iOS 26) back to glassy round shapes.
@thomasfuchs I am waiting for the time when we are back at simple solid rectangular buttons with two bright sides left and top and dark bottom and right. And inverted when pressed.
Can I have that instead of liquid glassy things and transparency nightmares with endless corners, please?
something, where I can clearly see that it is a button for clicking. Same for all other GUI elements.
Not this bullshit where you have to click on everything to check if it's an active element. Same for disappearing scrollbars and other similar elements
@thomasfuchs I’m still fond of my pushy buttons from 2023: https://denisdefreyne.com/weeknotes/2023-w2/
