Why the extra security on #renfe trains? I don't remember them x-raying luggage and jackets ten years ago. It slows things down big time. Did anything happen in the past few years to trigger that change? Is it doing anything, or is it just security theatre?

@alberto_cottica they went to the Airport and said "ok so what is the worst part of the Airport experience? Lets do the same for trains"
@alberto_cottica has been deployed since 1992 on Spanish high speed and long distance lines. Still a subject of debate as you can see in the link.

The govt's answer is really ideological. People are visiting Spain thanks to the sense of security brought by baggage checks on trains? Nothing happened in 30 years, means it's working? Yeah, right. If you believe this, I have a nice bridge I can sell you for cheap.
