My point is not really you should or you shouldn't support Platner, it's that this is all very sus even compared to a situation like Platner's because the upside with Platner is that if he HAS changed you get a Senator, probably. He has a very good chance of winning. I'd say he's a favorite myself.
What do you get if MtG is your ally? I KNOW she hasn't changed, I don't even wanna argue about it, she is clearly still a nazi. But she's also not politically relevant. Do you just LIKE the fascism?
I told you already in a variety of different ways - I am not prone to giving murderbot babykillers with nazi tattoos the benefit of the doubt. I do sincerely hope I'm wrong, and none of my apprehensions about this man turn out to matter at all - since you know, it's too late to change the candidate.
But you can't get mad at someone near the top of MULTIPLE nazi kill lists for not trusting people who used to think some of that shit was cool. Like, ever. It's not something I'm inclined to ignore.
In the end tho, the entire basis of the argument for "not going after" MtG is that she's a potential ally with political value.
Except she's not. She absolutely does not have political value. She is finished in the GOP, and a Democratic Party that would nominate her would be even further gone than *I* think they are to the nazi side. It's a nonstarter. She is worthless.
And also a nazi. But straight up, irrelevant as a political ally.
