In light of this Hantavirus BS, there should be a sketch about two people describing their own unique COVID experiences where one person is like "Yeah, I know! I didn't even go within 6 feet of a stranger until I was double vaxxed." and the other is like I wasn't able to hit the ball pit at Chuck E. Cheese until the family reunion in the summer of 2020."

@Alice I am shocked by my pupils’ responses to the hantavirus news story. They vary between “the people on that ship should be shot” to “I’ve never had a vaccination and I’m never having one”. Rarely shocked by what kids say any more but this topic clearly needs some gentle, persistent education.
This is seriously a very real thing. @KevBot was the designated person who would mask and glove up to stand in a line at Trader Joe's to get groceries for a month, so when I FINALLY went out for a drive to get my first vaccination, I was shocked to see people wandering about as if NOTHING was going on.
In case you're wondering...I was the latter.
This isn't even a joke. Around early 2021, Kev and I would go out for walks and we would seriously try to cross the street whenever anyone was approaching and there was a time when Kev had gotten both vaccinations but I had only gotten one and was waiting on my second and we encountered a woman having a SPITTY phone call on the street unmasked and I walked into the street to avoid her and shouted "SOME OF US AREN'T FULLY VAXXED YET!"
In retrospect, it's kind of funny how concerned I was, but we didn't have the data yet so F me for trying to be responsible.
@Alice Same here. I did not publicly chastise people, but I did rapidly make space. Last year, I tipped my mask up on a long flight to sip a drink — and got Covid for the first time, despite being doubly vaxed every year or sooner. I did that again at the gym a month ago and caught a Rino virus that just won’t quit. 🤦
@Alice me, too… I'm still hiding
I regret NOTHING about my approach to people who refuse to take this shit seriously.
