PSA @gusseting has discovered this project is made by an AI company RiseUpLabs: https://riseuplabs.app/
While I personally cannot see that stated anywhere on the 'Taken' site itself, it is thus understandable to be somewhat suspicious as to their motives for making this project.
@JulianOliver Tell me Julian, who built this site? Why do you think they built it? What do they stand to gain? What are the terms, conditions and privacy regarding this site you’re recommending? 🤔
@gusseting I don't know who built it but am fairly sure they did so solely to raise awareness. If they had nefarious goals, they would not wish to do this. The owner of every site we visit can do just the same as they have, many do.
I do agree it would be good that they make a statement of some sort as to what they do with data they collect.
@gusseting I do not know whom makes the site. Is an AI company truly behind it? Where is that made known?
Perhaps it is, and others like me don't know that's the case. Hence it seems rather extreme to be "sick to the core" at people in good heart sharing yet another site detailing how we may be identified and tracked by browser fingerprinting. Rather it seems more helpful to present one's findings and raise awareness, once again.
@JulianOliver hmmm, really neat. Agreed the language is a bit heavy, but it’s very beautifully rendered. A cursory glance didn’t reveal who is behind it. :)
@JulianOliver Fascinating! And indeed scary (but nothing new).
My test results with my main 3 usual browsers:
- Firefox: 34 data points.
- Seamonkey: 26.
- LibreWolf: 25.
@JulianOliver it read chrome and that was enough , another thing was #webgl fingerprinting
