That makes me wonder: what are the most transformative technologies of the past 50 years that everybody just shrugged and adopted because they weren't backed by the filthy rich?
@jrdepriest @thomasfuchs A lot of my suggestions turned out to be just beyond 50 years old. Microprocessors, TCP, Unix.
I think I'll go with the iPhone 3G, aka, 'the smartphone'. And yeah, that has microprocessors and TCP and Unix. My argument would be that the integration of all those technologies created another thing entirely.
