Y’all. I was quiet over the holidays because I was struggling with my mental health.
Today I’m still in it, but I got a big lift. Some joy amid the darkness.
For Christmas my family got me an experience at an interactive museum called Hopscotch. They took me today.
It was exactly what I needed. Life felt good for a minute.

In a room of giant murals, two stood out. “Funky Figures” by Jennifer Mercede and “Vultures and Zopilotes” by Casillas Oliver.
Seth Nehil’s “Chromesthesia” is immersive rooms with a single color light source and paired music.
Barbara Syrenka’s “Rainbow Cave” is a plexiglass maze like a fun hour mirror room. Etched art in the panes reveal animated lights on their top edge. All of the messages were positive and inclusive.
