like it's just very strange that these two individuals both of whom were involved in a militant religious movement also happened to be the sole sources of information about his death, while also making claims no one can verify about his devotion to said religious movement.
and especially they were both the sole people who claimed of kafka burning his manuscripts. and brod of course would take all of kafka's manuscripts with him to israel where they are now owned by the state.
also so sad and upsetting that brod who is clearly quite an aggressive editor also saw fit to simply end all of kafka's works abruptly. were they building to some sort of grander conclusion?
no doubt brod thought himself as deserving of kafka's fame. both of them (and every single reference provided on kafka's page regarding his death) would make claims of immense mental illness. that claim would directly be used to buttress e.g. the idea that he wouldn't want dora to see him in his last moments. so i find that part very frustrating on a personal level.
and like brod obviously was able to wield the ownership of kafka's manuscripts for personal wealth. i find it shocking how he was described as "coercing" kafka to read a text out loud, before taking it. it's so strange!
