@mattblaze Have you ever experimented with IR photography? (sorry if I've missed posts with it) This image reminds me of it, with the glowy brights. :)
@CStamp I do. I've got a monochrome back for the Phase One, which is very sensitive in the IR spectrum with the proper filtering. The challenge is finding subjects where it works and doesn't call attention to itself. That mostly means things without plants, which render as an unreal bright white under IR.
Captured with the Phase One IQ4-150 digital back, Rodenstock 90mm/5.6 HR-Digaron lens (@ f/6.3) and about 10mm of vertical shift to maintain geometry.
Almost five years ago, a group of insurrectionist losers sacked this building in an attempt to overthrow the US Government and prevent the transfer of power to a newly elected president. They got frighteningly close to succeeding.
This photo was made about six months later; some of the physical damage from the attack remains visible here.
I post this mostly as a periodic reminder to myself that it wasn't that long ago that the rule of law and the constitution prevailed. I hope it will again in my lifetime.
@mattblaze It will, unless you plan on dying sometime in the next 18 months. The only question I think will be whether the orange harangutan gets impeached or the GOP invalids him out to avoid impeachment. I've given up on him stroking out, they must have him on some Golden Throne-type life-support for him to have lasted this long.
@mattblaze I was thinking about that this morning. There is so much corruption, so much cruelty, so many lives are being viciously upended with complete impunity.
All those ICE officers will never face a jury. All those grifters will get away with enriching themselves at our expense. No one is going to be held accountable for the hundreds of thousands of children who have died due to USAID cuts.
It's not fair. It's not just. And it's all legal. This IS the rule of unjust law.
I'm mostly satisfied with this photo, but if I were to do it again, I'd probably use a one or two stop ND grad to even out the brightness of the dome with the main part of the building.
