Codeberg has over 200k accounts and only 1.2k members, which, if we assume that the recommended membership fee is the average, works out to ~50k€ per year in membership dues.

They’re asking for old hardware to run CI jobs, because they can’t just go out and buy a Mac Mini.

Please, folks, if you think a non-USA alternative to GitHub is important, and you have the disposable income: put your money forward.

@samir Hi, thank you for spreading the word. Given that money is involved, I think that I have to correct a nuance regarding our blog post (personal opinion) so as to not have people feel misled: We are generally very frugal and tend to prefer upcycling hardware that would otherwise be useless as a _matter of principle_. It's also why we chose to promote another non-profit that repurposes hardware to those in need.
