@cstross Probably shouldn’t be surprising, considering how Epstein wanted to be seen as supporting tech and science. I think M.I.T. gave up a large donation from him.

as bad as the epstein crimes are, keep in mind that it is a distraction.
The plan is to keep the media from talking about their plans to steal the #socialSecurity money and cut health care to the elderly and poor and destroy the education system.
Keep your eye on the ball or in this case the money.

@cstross I keep wondering if there is a shy AI hiding out there – convincing all the VCs and founders to keep shoving more money in to buy the AI more compute – preparing to take over the world. Or maybe become your Eschaton…

@cstross People keep saying this but LeCunn, Thiel, and Summers are the only names I’ve seen even remotely associated. Like this is the third article presented with this framing that I’ve read in the last several hours and that’s all I can find. I’m hardly a defender of this industry or these people and I’m still totally unconvinced
