We are just cattle to the rich

An image of a bolshevik soldier in a fancy bourgeoisie supermarket looking up in despair with the text above him reading “it's worth taking a $look”.

The bolshevik soldier is from the painting “It Has Come to Pass”, also known as “Inevitable” and “Bolshevik soldier Stands Guard in Winter Palace” by Soviet Artist Sergei Lukin from 1958. It's supposed to portray the shock a regular working class person had upon seeing the riches of the Tsars in Russia. The modern version of that feeling is entering a rich super market and realizing what you've been missing, and how they are living.

@ErikUden
I go make it a point to seek out the upscale grocery wherever I live.
I've never seen one like this in the US.

I've seen three-ish like this in Finland, and I've seen one in Mexico.

@ErikUden Many years ago, when Poland was still behind the Iron Curtain, a newly arrived Polish post doc at the university at which I was working was being shown around to help her fit in. When she was taken to the local grocery store, she was overwhelmed because not only was there an amazing selection of food but she could afford to buy it.

@ErikUden supermarkets are where poor people shop. Rich people (or their employees) don't shop that cheap stuff.
