In general, I appreciate the many inspiring interactions we have here om Mastodon. But recently I have received at least 10 replies, that are all variations of the sentence "Trump should be killed".

I fully understand the resentment against a criminal person who is tearing a country apart, but I am a firm believer that the answer to his crimes is not more crimes, but instead more justice.

Trump must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Win the midterms decisively. Then impeach him.

@randahl
He is pro capital punishment, in the US. "Prosecuted ro the full extend of the law" does imply killed. Or at least it would if he wasn't rich and powerful.

Pedo AND murderer (using military grade weapons even), other than being rich, how does that translate to anything less than the chair?

@randahl Then the proper word would be "executed" 😜
(To the members of the CIA, this is just a joke!)

@randahl When someone suggests anyone should be killed, regardless of who it is or why they say they should be killed, I just mute or block them. At least I won’t have to see it again.

@randahl Donald Trump being killed would be a political catastrophe. It would mean the end of civil liberties (and probably elections), and an orgy of revenge killings.

People suggesting such things are either naive to the point of stupidity, or they actually want to see the US plunged into a nightmare of political violence.

@randahl People who voted for him should take full responsibility. Don't blame that grandiose narcissistic child in the body of grandpa. He wasn't cheating. He is doing what he promised, unfortunately to USA.

@randahl he deserves knowing (discovering?) that bullies, criminals, fascists (hopefully again soon everywhere) are eventually exposed and punished. His narcissism would suffer much more at the humiliation than any physical intervention!

@randahl Trump is 79 years old and won't live to see legal justice. But he is and has been literally cancerous to everything and everyone he encounters except for those who bow before him and do his despicably-cruel and ill-informed bidding. His actions are cancer. As president with the power that #JohnRoberts bestowed, #Trump is #cancer and I will never apologize for wanting full and total eradication of such malignancy.

@randahl
btw, Trump resumed the federal death penatly after a 17 years moratorium, just before leaving office in 2020, killing 13 people.

Biden put a moratorium on federal death penalty. He didn't allow anyone to be legally killed under him.

And then one of the first thing Trump did in 2025 was lifting Biden's moratorium.

USA is not Europe, and I think we must respect US culture!

@randahl by the looks of him today it won't be long before Death 'takes him from us' so why get a visit from the FBI over something that will happen soon without the necessity of an assassin?

@randahl He shouldn't be killed, gods no. He should be impeached, and removed from office.

The shame, and the blight on the family name should be enough to destroy that family forever.

That World Liberty Financial crypto scam firm? Who's going to invest in it when their dad is a three-time impeached president removed from office for breaking the law? Who's gonna buy a Trump phone? Or a Trump watch?

@randahl agreed. At least for as long as there's still some rule of law in the us.

If they let it slide to a full-blown putinesque dictatorship, though, things change quite a bit. If you can no longer remove them from office peacefully, violence is the only answer.

@zombiewarrior last time it failed because Republicans controlled the Senate. If you read my post again, notice that I say win the midterms decisively for exactly this reason. Conviction of the president requires a 2/3 majority in the Senate.
