Finally had time to post about some of the Dutch gov's open source projects and efforts to become more digitally sovereign.
Tldr: we're heading in the right direction, but we need to work on a gov-wide strategy instead of relying on individual projects.

@Gina The coherent strategy part is what ultimately made OpenDesk successful and sets it apart from previous initiatives that aimed to achieve the same goal. Instead of different vendors with slightly different strategies, it's presented to the customer as one coherent vision despite reusing established open-source components.
That makes it far easier for organizations to adopt it, both in terms of the brainpower required to understand it and in terms of requesting bids.

Komt er ook nog iets richting het bedrijfsleven? Over bewustzijn rond de afhankelijkheid van een potentiël onbetrouwbare aanbieder?
@semanticfire Zekers, al zijn we meer gefocused op waar we dan wél voor moeten kiezen en hoe we het makkelijker kunnen maken om voor Europese opensource bedrijven te kiezen. Soms zit ons eigen sourcing- / aanbestedingsbeleid nog wel eens in de weg.

Ik kreeg altijd meewarige blikken als ik duidelijk maakte niet op big tech platformen te zitten (op github en bitbucket), maar mensen beginnen het steed beter te begrijpen.
Met mijn partime ambtenaar helmpje op verbaas ik me enorm partijen uit de kritische infrastructuur klakkeloos op #bigtech over stappen.
