To everyone who said that the wealthiest were untouchable: Prince Andrew is now being striped of all titles, will no longer be known as Prince, and is banished from his home The Royal Lodge.
May Donald Trump be next.

@randahl He will be fine lets be honest. Yes he has been the one thrown to the wolves to protect people more powerful than him on the Epstein list because that is never going to be released but lets not pretend his life is going to be hard for here on out. He is the tip of the iceberg while people like Trump, Gates, Charles and others will continue to be off the radar.
@randahl
That's a good thing!
I like history, but that's precisely what it should be: monarchy, history. Because I believe that if royal houses still held the power of earlier times, many people would lose their romanticized view of the dynasties of the nobility. It's currently unavoidable and easy to portray oneself as a benefactor and philanthropist using resources stolen and appropriated in the past, as well as current allowances.
@randahl
Now he is just Andrew. Does he have a last name?
@randahl The pedophile formerly known as Prince.
@randahl
Gotta tell Putin to step it up.He's lookin like a rookie
@randahl
Andrew was never ‘untouchable’ because he did not figure in the palace’s succession story… He is not the first ‘royal’ to fall foul of the ‘Throne’.
@randahl he should be in prison
heads starting to roll. At least, figuratively.
The difference here is that his wealth has been all about inherited privilege. The British royal family has been more successful than any other at hanging onto inherited “Royal” wealth & status.
I don’t have a problem with a little bit of Royal pomp & ceremony. And let’s face it, even before Trump, the US had accorded far too much status to the position of president. But for years now the excesses of the British royal family have been a slap in the face to British taxpayers.
Whether this type of accountability & dressing down will be extended throughout the world to those with real power, is another matter entirely. And let’s face it, if they were really serious about it, Andrew would’ve been forced to go to the US for questioning under oath.
I’m not expecting those in real power to be made accountable any time soon.
@randahl Well I see him as a well done candidate.
@randahl Could be worse. He should be in jail.
@touaregtweet I do not rule that out as a possible future development.
