Uhhh Azure and AWS?

UPDATE: I'm seeing confirmations of Azure, but not AWS. That could be mistaken identity on behalf of Downdetector reporters.

Downdetector shows Azure, Microsoft, and AWS spikes.

@mttaggart

First AWS, then Cloudflare, now Azure?

Is somebody trying to make a point?

@mttaggart "we suspect an inadvertent configuration change as the trigger event" is the most bullshit flowery "somebody done fucked up" admission I've ever seen.

@mttaggart if I had a nickel for every time a pillar of the internet’s functionality went dead this month I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

@mttaggart And I can’t reproduce beyond getting an edgesuite.com error at costco.com, but the first message I saw indicated [drum roll] DNS [plastic-cymbal hit].

@mttaggart downdetector is based on user reports. i suspect that's either folks who think it's AWS and are wrong, or whose path crosses MS services on the way to AWS, like for MS-based SSO

@neurovagrant @mttaggart yeah, the Azure shitting the bed has broken anyone doing Azure-AWS shit with their AD.

And as a reminder, "portal" means "Front Door" means they have no idea because they can't get in either and assume absolutely everything is dead.

@mttaggart I'm curious if their in-store terminals are still working, there could be a LOT of cranky people if not, ha ha. #Starbucks

@Walker I wrote you an acrostic poem, which I dedicate to @cR0w :

Destroy all clouds
Escape hyperscalers
Seize the means of computing
Cloud services are a Ponzi scheme
Azure, AWS, and GCP are parasites
Load balancers are just servers in front of servers
Everything shouldn't rely on 3 points of failure.
