The City Council spent $13,000 on Instagram, Facebook, and Threads ads opposing the ballot proposals, plus maybe $1M? on postage for their mass mailings:

As @THECITY points out, despite a City Council spokesperson claiming that the electioneering rules don't cover referenda, the City Charter actually does cover this.
