First, sex trafficker Gislaine Maxwell was moved to a minimum security prison.

Then Trump commuted wire fraud criminal George Santo's 7 year sentence.

And now Trump pardons the Chinese crypto criminal Changpeng Zhao, arguing "A lot of people say that he wasn't guilty of anything" — after the man pleaded guilty in a case that revealed, his company Binance laundered money for terrorist organisations like Hamas and al-Qaida.

The US government truly is a mob empire.

Zhao is an equal opportunity money launderer who counted “child sex offenders, drug traffickers, terrorists and sanctioned countries” among his clients.

Trump always pardons those who share his proclivities.

@randahl "a lot of people" trumps the court system.

Got it.

Next time I wanna do something underhanded, I'll get "a lot of people" on my side first.

The thing that all three have in common? Mystery Money.

They are all people with inside knowledge of the foreign money flooding into Republican campaign coffers & funding malign influence operations.

That's why Trump pardons particular individuals & not others; the money and The Moneyed.

@randahl Trump is working his way down to releasing Ghislaine Maxwell. It wouldn’t surprise me if he chose let the BTK serial killer loose too.
