I wish fedi would add some explicit content warning tags for things like NSFW, violence and politics etc and people can set in options to block posts with them.

I'd rather NSFW didn't show up in my timeline at all than having to tell my #ADHD brain not to press the shiny button.

@KitsuneVixi my issue with content warnings is that it's 100% dependent on author compliance. As the fediverse grows and we get more naive consumers here, the #UX designer in me *knows* that they just aren't going to do that. Not through malice! You just can't get everyone to "behave as YOU want"

This overly optimistic belief that "people will just tag their posts properly" needs to be discussed more.

@scottjenson@social.coop I think it's a start. People I follow are using them. Often frivolously just for random things I don't find offensive, sometimes on actual nudity and I have to remind myself not to click this time, which I can find difficult.

Only time I've seen them not used are on the mastodon.social latest posts tab, which I avoid like the plague.

Having some universal content tags that can be optionally filtered out of people's feeds would help.
