The fishing rod sings
with energy and movement;
it's all it and I
The small apple's skin -
dappled in sunlight and wind -
tastes a bit like time
Tough shells, shattered shards;
each walnut guards its kernel,
then it cracks open
Sand between the toes,
footprints on the empty beach -
this is where we've been
Salmon, run upstream,
past dangers and barriers
to make their way home
