This is the most impactful thing one can do to protest corporate caving to autocracy. Canceling Disney and Hulu subscriptions. I suggest you do the same. Now. And boost messaging like this to friends. Push back hard.

@tchambers It would be more effective if advertisers pulled their buys from ABC. That will never happen.
@icanbob @tchambers so, let's do the less effective thing that will happen.
@tchambers @evan Yes we all should be debillionairing. The problem is that we like the billionaires product/service more than we dislike their behaviour. I failed totally to convince any of my friends to switch from Meta’s Instagram to Pixelfed. Same psychology at play.
@tchambers The problem is that most people's worldview is that they are just one tiny person and nothing they do or don't do matters. They don't have any collective consciousness as this has been discouraged under capitalism.
And then there's FOMO involved as well. I can't even get our local politicians to stop their intense use of Meta platforms.
I've never given them a dime in the first place, so my "contribution" doesn't add to the statistic, no one will notice.
@tchambers show them what you're made of (cake)
@tchambers
Even though I have neither of those, I do support this. Because these morons who cave in like that should pay for being spineless. I watched the clip of Kimmel when he was making fun of the Tangerine Twatwaffle. He was not going after Kirk at all. Yet somehow that became "vile" according to the right wing pundits. And then they keep spinning it to "the left is celebrating" when the opposite is true. The left is speaking out about all political violence...
@mastodonmigration @tchambers ... did so already in April after I realised how much U.S. companies fall in line behind the #OrangeImbecile .
The most impactful thing would be to actually protest. Canceling helps but it is far from the most impactful.
@tchambers
> Canceling #Disney subscriptions
How are we going to watch the end of the #rugby world cup #RWC2025 if we do that now?
@tchambers
Done.
Sending $ to NPR and PBS instead.
Also very interested in seeing a list of businesses that advertise on the offending networks violating first amendment rights, any info on boycotts.
@tchambers I cancelled Hulu about a year & ago half ago for promoting #FauxSpews
Boycott is an effective act of #resistance
I’m watching Colbert.
Really bummed about Kimmel.
@tchambers Yeah ... I still have Sling until the WNBA playoffs are done, then it's back to zero TV.
@tchambers I love hockey, but won't pay for ESPN for a multitude of reasons. This is another on the pile.
@tchambers What's Disney done this time...dare I even ask?
