Film screenings at the bookstore
I run a bookstore called Hemlock Bazaar in Ellijay.

I do my best to call it a bookstore, but it's also a cafe.
It was, for many years and under a different name, the center of a lot of community and organizing here in town.
It still is, in some ways, but I've had less energy and attention to give to that than I'd like.
So we're looking at adding film screenings as a way to do some community building.
Current status: I'm getting a new projector, re-hanging our 150" screen, and getting some extra folding chairs. I've picked a couple of films that are very friendly to indie screenings, and reached out to the filmmakers.

@span ajroach42 nice. Our local, independent book store had a short film festival just last night. It was well visited (although it was during the 'social Saturday' the surrounding businesses organize every month so lots of food traffic already). Skies of Tomorrow (radio station)
It's a radio station! Right now, you can hear it, for now, at
https://skiesoftomorrow.tv
It'll always be embedded at that URL, but will eventually actually stream from a subdomain, and the main website will end up on the homepage.
The radio station is a collection of 78 RPM recordings and wax cylinder recordings from ~1900 - 1924 (with 1925 recordings getting added in January.)
That is to say that it's music from the American Public Domain. Some of it is good stuff! Some of it I haven't fully evaluated yet.
I'm working on cleaning it up and making it better, but I'm also listening to it while I do other stuff.

Skies of Tomorrow (podcast)
Part of the reason I have the Skies of Tomorrow radio station running is in support of the rest of the Skies of Tomorrow stuff.
I'll talk significantly more about this in a minute, because it's the thing that I'm spending the most time on right now. Basically it's a 10-minute podcast styled as a 1930s radio drama, set in an alternate 1920s where airships are common.
The narrative follows the “Over-cloud Underground,” a crew of aerial anarchists who use a pirate radio broadcast to foment global class struggle.
It is loosely inspired by the film Filibus, and my ongoing written serial "The Mysterious Air Pirates."
The crew gathers intelligence and supports workers’ and civil rights movements from their airship, acting as a beacon of hope and resistance.
Each episode will end with an "actual" broadcast from the crew, which will feature music, sports, news, etc.

I am half tempted to do whole sports broadcasts in character.

Just like "This is James Porter reporting live from the skies over South End Grounds and it's a Beautiful day for a game of baseball and what a game it's going to be."

And then just do play by play for a game of baseball I make up using stats and dice? Throw some banter in, the occasional ad read.

It wouldn't advance the show at all.

Skies of Tomorrow (television program)
I'm also working up a ~15 minute television program with the same characters. This will be different material than the podcast, and will be done in a "daily soap opera" style (although I'll be lucky if I can get an episode out per month once we start.)
I'm mostly writing and working on sets right now.
## Skies of Tomorrow (video game)
This is a GBC game I'm sketching up right now that follows along roughly with the plot of the first arc of the shows.
It'll feature several of the events of the shows that we can't film/that happen of screen. It should be fun.

The Mysterious Air Pirates issue 2
I've been writing a serial set in the same basic universe as Skies of Tomorrow, but featuring (a modified to my liking version of) the crew from #filibus (the 1915 Italian Silent film about the genderfluid bisexual skypirate. (I say bisexual every time I talk about the series, because that's how I read the portrayal. I might be projecting. I'm writing my Filibus as a bisexual genderfluid person.) )
Issue one is out for sale now through various platforms.
Issue two is outlined and partially written. I have more writing to do, editing and polishing, layout, and I have to find or produce or commission a cover for the second issue (which might be the hardest part!)

Expedition Sasquatch (Future podcast episodes)
We released a new episode of Expedition sasquatch to https://expeditionsasquatch.org a few weeks ago.
There's another one recorded and slated for release on October 1st (currently available to patrons and NETV supporters in early access) and another one recorded and slated for release November 1st (which will go into early access October 1st.)
I have outlined the next 5 or 6 episodes and I need to write them and get them over to @span Username_Here_ASAP to start recording them.

Expedition Sasquatch (Future television episodes)
We've tried two different ways to do Expedition Sasquatch as a Television program, and I'm not completely satisfied with either of them.
But I'm also not entirely dissatisfied with either of them.
For various reasons, folks involved in producing both of the television versions of the show are not working with me on projects right now (mostly things in their respective personal lives, and not things to do with me, but it still means I've got to retool things a bit.)
I'm working on a hybrid approach that features a sitcom segment and a documentary segment. it'll be structured slightly more in line with the podcast (which purports to be a live recording from a bigfoot hunt.)
I've written some stuff. I want to shoot some stuff. I'm not doing much with it right now.

@span philnelson I'm kind of taking a hybrid approach. I've been adding a boatload of recordings that are from sets of recordings with which I am familiar and can speak to quality.

And I have those weighted about 4:1 against recordings recordings I haven't vetted at all.

But the recordings I have vetted... At least some of them I haven't vetted very closely. I know from whence they come, and I know they don't have any slurs in the titles, and I know that they don't sound like ass.

But I don't know what they're like, musically.

It's been a fun experiment.
