I've always been a fan of and very much appreciate the minimal character design in the above OK Go video. Along similar lines, here're some I co-created with/for Universal Everything back in 2008, to be shown as semi-permanent installation on massive screens at Heathrow T5 and in Nokia flagship stores...
The design idea came from painting eyes with my kids on pebbles collected at Birling Gap. It also was this project for which I created the softbody Verlet physics engine, which then became a key part of my opensource toxiclibs library collection, used by architects, designers, artists, students...
