@jeffjarvis If MAGA is the new 'establishment', would these magazine folks be considered the deposed establishment now regrouping themselves? Regardless, if they can get the funding to pay anti-fascist writers to write anti-establishment stories, they should go for it. But until a product is produced, we won't know what to nitpick. 🙂

I posted this without comment and, oh, the comment followed with many warning signs. It's a bunch of so-called "centrists" (itself a myth) claiming the mantle of "left." I suppose there's a silver lining: "left" is in.

@jeffjarvis

Might have been better to put the text of your initial post in quotes to clarify that "The left gets a new publication" is the actual title of the article, not your personal opinion 🙂

@funcrunch
The headline was right below. It is the typical format for just sharing. I can't help it if people don't get that.

I know, but people are lazy. And FWIW, I first saw your post shared by someone else and due to Mastodon web formatting of bridged articles with quoted posts, only a truncated portion could be seen without clicking through. (See screenshot)

Why is centrist a myth? I don't trust any of them and form my opinion on "they are all self interested".

@jeffjarvis Seems a tactic for galvanizing Christian Nationalism and TESCREAL. Paint centrism as "left" to collect people, test the influence you have on them, then as the Republicans destroy more of American establishment to pave authoritarianism and billionaire rule, push the readers to begrudgingly accept it.

More tools to push the public into the abatoir calmly.
