In June, ProPublica reported that the FDA has given more than 20 foreign factories a special pass to send drugs to the U.S. even though they were made at plants the agency had banned.

Today, we’re publishing a list of those exempted drugs.

@ProPublica Given how complicated Good Manufacturing Practice regulations are (and how much they have to do with producing the right paperwork), I'm not sure I am outraged by the existence of this "special pass" but hopefully reporting like this will help people sort through what the risks are here and whether these exemptions are being overused.

I'm sure they will get the permits renewed if the pay 15% of the order value to a certain person.

So if someone gets killed because of a policy decision then it is not murder? No matter how bad the policy is?
You know the Sacklers are enjoying this.

@ProPublica Im on levetiracetam, one of the drugs that they allowed to be imported. I've had experience with my medication being producer dependant, sometimes it's working perfectly, others it's barely working or in some cases producing side effects so bad that I can't even move without extreme naustia and pain. To hear that this was the cause is heartbreaking.

Now the MAGAt GQP wants to also poison us with substandard foreign produced drugs. Will we pay tariffs on these too? Mother f*ckers.

@ProPublica the FDA already has dubious guidelines for testing bioequivalence of drugs and they also have their heads so far up their arse FOR YEARS that they refused to look into a certain drug (Wellbutrin) that was dose dumping. It wasn’t until a radio(? I can’t recall) figure brought it up that they FINALLY looked at it. And then suddenly it was pulled from the market. For dose dumping. For many years they have allowed drugs that other countries rightly banned.

@ProPublica This reinforces my decision many years ago to pay extra for the brand name Levoxyl. Back then my endocrinologist agreed with that decision.
