This is an article about the role of the striker over recent decades, to be considered with interest by football connoisseurs. But it's at best incomplete, at worst flawed, for two main reasons:

- Not citing, not even once, the names of some of the players who helped shape the role. Just to name three: Luis Suárez, Wayne Rooney, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

- It touches upon something, but it's delivered superficially, from a TV-and-armchair spectacle PoV.

Maybe there is more and it's part of a series the author intends to develop further?

Or is this article the victim of poorly condensed text using AI? (and subsequent terrible human judgement allowing this to stand)

It has all the signs and markers that there is genuine human insight in this article, but there are also clear signs that something came up and derailed it along the way.
