Got sidetracked looking into getting a PC hooked up to a TV to be able to send CEC signals, since almost all GPUs do not include this.
Turns out that it's quite the rabbithole.

I’ve found an open source project something that’s basically a pass through with a small microcontroller to inject the CEC commands. Combined with some software that fires when wake from sleep and in theory that’s enough to do all that’s needed to tell everything else to wake up and switch over.

@aurynn I bought a USB dongle thingy for it a few years ago, and looked at the tools for sending CEC signals and then immediately despaired
