@EUCommission my sincere compliments and respect to the pilots who fly firefighting planes.
Flying firefighting planes is one of the most dangerous things any pilot can do. This is not for a faint of heart.
Why?
You fly very low
You fly in mountainous terrain
Your instruments are almost useless
Your visual is close to 0
And on top of that it’s hot. Aeroplane engines have never been designed to fly through fires or hot smoke.
