European Commission
@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu  ·  activity timestamp 3 months ago

We are stepping up to turn nature protection into a long-term investment strategy for the future of Europe.

Today, we introduced a new tool to boost support for those who protect and restore nature.

Nature credits support actions that help protect and restore nature. In return, those who invest can benefit from healthier ecosystems, lower risks, and a better reputation.

🌱Together, we can build a future that works for both business and biodiversity.

Illustration of several hands working together to plant a young tree in the soil. The scene includes outlines of people wearing casual clothes and sneakers. Green leaves and small plants are growing around the tree. In the top right corner, the European Commission logo is visible. At the bottom left, the text reads: "Building up nature, together" in brown letters on a green brushstroke background.

For fuck sake. ¿Nature credits? Do we have a look to the huge wind power plant that is intended to be built on a Spanish natural reserve? 🤬🤬🤬

Whom is the idiot that manages the @EUCommission account? 🤬🤬🤬

Nothing like this should be published without the agreement of ALL the #EU parliament members.

Where is #Podemos and #ionebelarra? 🤬

@EUCommission ey, so nature protection is among your interests? Why not shutting down mining projects in Andalucia (Spain)?

@EUCommission Nature protection and perpetual growth are incompatible, not just logically but mathematically.

@EUCommission It wasn't mentioned in the toot, but there's a call for feedback, open until 30 September 2025. For details, click the link.

@EUCommission "nature credits" as useful as "carbon credits" to offset the Climate Change. That is: useless.

@EUCommission You are not. You let the Spanish government build a bigger port in Valencia and a new airport in Barcelona destroying our most loved ecosystems (those that attract all that tourism you Europeans like to show off).

You’re just washing some companies reputations and deeds.
