...also, i got a baby some weeks ago, so that might slow down progress a bit more, but still, i am eager to get it done. With the baby it is hard to work on a laptop, but having this keyboard and AR glasses woyld make it easier again ๐

If only we had a way to funding paying people to work on things like this, without all the admin overhead and paperwork of grant funding. Like, for example, a weekly payment everyone gets to cover their core costs. So we can choose to public interest work on hack on itch-scratching projects instead of spending our days doing whatever rich people will pay us to do.
UBI would solve this. Just saying ...
i agree, but UBI will never come.
The best we can hope for is holding bitcoin it will appreciate forever - thats second best to UBI and it also doesnt require totalitarian surveillance that can be weaponized in a totalitarian way - which is even scarier because "nazis" are trending worldwide ...
also, bitcoin ends inflation so stuff stays affordable.
lastly without money printers, ppl HAVE to collaborate and will need to care finally.

People used to say the same thing about all sorts of stuff that's now commonplace. Elected governments replacing the divine right of kings. Public education systems that have normalised literacy across most of the world. Public health systems that have eliminated whole diseases in some countries.
The capitalists who want the power to decide how we spend our working lives didn't want us believing any of those things would happen either ...
hm, i joined UBi initiatives and engaged in politics back in the late 90s and early 2000s and have followed it since then. In germany it even has ppl like foundee of DM store chain supporting it and musk also calls for UBI... politicians here and there talked about it but in over 30 years it never went anywhere.
...and maybe we can wait another 20-30 years and hope that in europe/germany, some "Merz" or maybe Hรถcke/Weidel will do it. I dont see it. it gets worse and worse

In fact, the fiat money printer system IS what enriches the billionaires. No billionaire earned their wealth on the market, they all get it from the government/banks money printers and if their pet projects fail, they just print more money for new ones and houses & stuff gets more unaffordable all the time.
In fact, a UBI we all would get can be made just as useless by printing even more for their projects, making inflation eat up all UBI value.
lets just turn it off and...
...instead build strong mutual aid solidarity networks. we dont need big politics to drop some crumbs from the table to keep us supporting their crony system.
the poor are NOT supported in current systems, i know it from first hand experience and many ppl in my social networks - its just rich corrupt ppl for the most part and a few organized pockets of society that benefit - the millions dont

Same. In Aotearoa it's gone from a fringe idea promoted by a couple of small groups, to being an idea supported by the last NZ Minister of Finance. It's promoted as serious policy by a party that will most likely have MPs after the imminent election.
