@wyatt wiener32. the wiener SDK. c# for wieners. literally so easy
Discussion
@wyatt could also view it as an illustration of the EEE curve. the first iteration is only significant because microsoft blessed it to run on their products. the subsequent iterations work to pretend microsoft is incidental. eventually in the grand finale microsoft is revealed to have Been Doing Evil Shit That Whole Time
@wyatt analogously, at first it's marketed and sold as an enterprise product using the corporate surname prefix honorific construction ("microsoft x"), then seeks to become a consumer product and prefers you refer to it by first name as a friend
@wyatt "explorer" feels very modern in terms of marketing. "xbox" feels immensely y2k (good)—i'm a little surprised it's still in use but it does emphasize the physical hardware device they're selling and i assume they're proud of that. "windows" feels very very modern (and easily shortened to epithets like win10).
@wyatt stallman still goes on screeds about calling it "win32" because he's kind of a basic bitch whose walnut brain can't figure out how to satirize an evil corp who named their product "win" and thinks this is like a CIA subliminal psyop campaign
