In another thread, I’ll say more about the rest of my day today, because for me, as for so many of us, it was shot through with the Virginia Supreme Court quashing that state’s effort to fight partisan redistricting with its own redistricting. And, it was a day of boots on the ground work for democracy and rule of law. 6/6

I had a call this morning with Peggy Flanagan’s campaign, following up on the event for her here in New Mexico yesterday. 2/
I was impressed with Flanagan in person. We talked about the imperative to reform the U.S. Supreme Court. She was plugged in. She brought up _Callais_, realizing it is a major inflection point, putting the need for major reform beyond all question. 4/
I feel like the term “the need for major reform” is doing a lot of heavy lifting and eliding a lot of difficult, uncomfortable, and generation-defining things
@paninid Look, my friend, I’m microblogging. Shorthand is unavoidable.
In the group q and a, Flanagan was energetic, eloquent, funny, and compelling. I went into my call this morning wanting to support her further here on Mastodon but only if the campaign sets up an account here. 3/
The Flanagan staffer was terrific. She’s on the finance side but is going to speak to the digital side. So a chunk of the THE DAY was devoted to rounding up some explainers about the Fediverse and Mastodon for Flanagan’s digital team. 4/
