Oh dear, it's that day of the year again.

I mean… yes, let people enjoy things, of course. I have no issue with that and I myself am an appreciator of things many will consider lame or even cringe.
But Star Wars, in addition to being an uninspired fairytale-with-lasers that had already overstayed its welcome twenty-five years ago, has been completely assimilated by the capitalist machine. It's not art anymore, it's a Disney brand used as bait by fucking everyone to get your money or at least some "engagement" in a way that any fan should find insulting.
"May the fourth be with you" says your bank with an AI-generated picture of its logo next to Baby Yoda, it gets thousands of likes mere milliseconds after being posted.
"Buy our limited edition stuff" that is the regular stuff with some instantly recognisable references slapped on, at twice the regular price.
"Here's a filter for your profile picture", it adds a red lightsaber and a Disney logo on your face because some marketer's subconscious was really trying to say something.
Fuck, even the Finch app greeted me with a "may the fourth be with you" and a "galaxy nomad laser sword" as apparently even when you do their advertisement for free you still have to live in fear of Disney's lawyers.
I am tired of this shit.
(at least Finch have it right, these are not sabers)
