You probably already know this, but Beetthoven's Kreutzer Sonata was originally called the Bridgetower Sonata, after the Black English violinist and composer, George Bridgetower.
Unfortunately Bridgetower made a joke about some girl Beethoven fancied, and in a huff he removed GB's name from the manuscript and rededicated it to Rudolphe Kreutzer, who couldn't even play the damn thing.
