“I can hear why the sheriff would say, ‘Well, if any stranger can buy that information, why can’t I buy that information?’” EFF’s Beryl Lipton told Flatwater Free Press. “I would argue any stranger should not be able to buy that information.” https://flatwaterfreepress.org/this-nebraska-company-is-supplying-ice-with-surveillance-tech/

@eff Isn't this besides the point?
It should be: Why is this information available for sale in the first place?
Who allowed you to collect it?
And maybe: Do you want the top or bottom bunk bed in your new prison cell?

@eff Mark Zuckerberg has a quote that I studied during my time at uni in Analytics course. I can't remember it verbatum, but it was something like, "No persons data is private and is for sale or use."
I've been looking for it, but with no access to moodle anymore or facebook where I previously shared the quote, it's difficult to find the source― CBS or Business Insider or Harvard BS.
Maybe AI can find it.
