ya know those hole in the wall phone repair shops, run by a little weird dude who can repair absolutely anything and harangues you never to charge your phone over 80% and especially not overnight? yeah, those guys are gonna be the NEW GODS
#SouthPark did a pretty good job with this meme in "Joining the #Panderverse". #Handymen become celebrity billionaires because they can actually fix things. It's the secondary plot, but no less on the nose! Plumbers butt even has a cameo appearance. 😉
@davidgerard I have a Samsung S9+ that took a spill and was looking at repair. Then I realized I hadn't gotten Android updated in about a year. Going to be a dicey and insecure couple of years for some people.

Phone hard cases would be a good idea.
And maybe one of those little bluetooth phones that use your smart phone for the actual connection. Are those still a thing? You could leave your phone somewhere safer like a backpack and talk on the little one.
@davidgerard I wonder what Apple and Samsung will think of that. Despite both putting their hands into the "AI" business their core revenue is still selling consumer hardware...

Interesting comment about charging - I have used a slow charger on my phones overnight for years and I'm guessing this has helped maintain battery life considerable.
@davidgerard Eh, I needed to ditch my smartphone anyway. (To be fair, this shit is so ass.)
