@alexchapman i've used elton but didn't realize how big a mess it was.
@alexchapman i've used elton but didn't realize how big a mess it was.
@alexchapman is thrive a federated service? i.e if you register on one server, can you contact entities on another server via that?
@freya not yet, but we're considering implementing federation via XMPP.
@alexchapman at that point why not just make Thrive an XMPP client outright? We need an MSN messenger-like, native, lightweight, E2E encrypted, XMPP client. Miranda NG exists, but Miranda NG is a janky mess that I still haven't figured out how to create a multi-user chat from
@freya Its in the works.
@alexchapman is there a thrive messenger protocol doc?
@freya No, but the whole thing's an early alpha so eventually there will be stuff like more technical documentation.
@patricus Its not 5 years ago, shit happened like last year.
@patricus Dude, you're still not getting the point. We can't have people like that on platforms where anyone can just message people and do stuff, so for the love of God, just drop it.
@alexchapman good. because I need a place where I dont' have to worry about discomfort. If every time there is something new, and it becomes unsafe. that just makes me not want to try cool things anymore, because some one or some ones wan'ts to make it worse for everyone. and we don't need asshats showing up and causing chaotic discomfort for people
@alexchapman Is this Thrive Messenger thing for Windows or iOS or what? I'm thinking of getting it.
@randomuser Windows, but it can be ran on Mac. IOS and Android will be coming at some point.
@alexchapman Can you install it as a standalone installer on Windows or is it portable?
@randomuser Both installer and portable options.
@alexchapman How do i get it or do I have to compile it? I'm developing a replacement TeamTalk UI but I have to compile mine.
@randomuser https://github.com/g4p-studios/ThriveMessenger/releases/latest there's an installer in the release assets.
@alexchapman Out of curiosity friend. Will group chats become a thing?
@NicksWorld Yeah, I merged a pull request last night that had a bunch of new stuff, and I think groups may be one of them, but things still need finalising before a new release is pushed out.
@alexchapman @NicksWorld hey how about the sent messages reading automaticly? I know the receive can.
@alexchapman i've used elton but didn't realize how big a mess it was.
@NicksWorld Yeah, the dev doesn't bother to help with moderation, and also hasn't improved things to prevent spammers.
