This top is worked sideways - cast on for the sleeves, work a few cm, cast on additional sts for front and back, work until the shoulder width is reached, divide for front and back, work back first, then front, connect again, second shoulder, bind off body, finish the sleeve.
I'm now at the point, where I'm finished with the first skein of yarn and I still need about 20 rows for the back. The finished back would be about the halfway point
1/2
I started with the what I think is the smaller skein - I don't know, how much yardage there is in total, but the other one was a bit heavier.
Seems, like I have to rethink, how I progress here. About 20 rows is probably way more than the difference between both skeins accounts for.
I'm thinking about making the front "open" with short rows, so there's a gap at the bottom and only connect both pieces at the upper 1/3 or so. This way there's less surface to cover, which would save yarn.

#knitting bubble - I need some hive mind here.
I'm pretty sure now, that I will NOT have enough yarn. The new plan is to make the center front from a different yarn and color.
But what would work with these colors? Probably more complimentary than contrast. I'm thinking a darkish grey, using a yarn with a different texture (smooth and shiny) and maybe a different pattern stitch, more lacy?
Other ideas?
