@hipsterelectron I'd love to get involved with making something like this, it's sorely needed and I want to implement it in every way I take money online lol, fuck banks and US megacorps

bruh; i accidentally forgot about the entire theory of recursive group identity that i had been working on a couple years ago. that's so primed for further action lmao https://circumstances.run/@hipsterelectron/113965476533550751
oh my goddddd i keep forgetting about my projects. i literally made emscripten into a compiler for @spack i can compile any c/++ code into wasm now. perl would be a great example. open to other suggestions too (not ffmpeg) https://circumstances.run/@hipsterelectron/113993411391277553
totally forgot about this idea which i really really wanted to propose to the FTC but didn't have time to write up: HTTPS over SMS. it's a catchy name that basically means nothing, but the idea is to include a non-spoofable identifier in official communications which can be independently verified by the recipient (and optionally the recipient can confirm receipt of the communication). this avoids surveillance and completely solves the "deepfake" problem without engaging in an arms race of "AI" "detectors" https://circumstances.run/@hipsterelectron/113995141290653182
it's incredibly easy to make a fully decentralized anonymous payment system and no cryptocurrency even attempts to do this. this is so obvious it's almost uninteresting but i really think it should exist even if just to demonstrate how cryptocurrency categorically fails to solve the problem they claim https://circumstances.run/@hipsterelectron/113995371991350085

@raphaelmorgan right now i think there's a more pressing need for anonymity-preserving messaging and i have recently figured out how this might be achieved (tor and i2p do not perform what i consider to be relatively basic requirements) but even that would still need to be built upon a more fully-fleshed-out p2p double ratchet message encryption protocol. i think once those two layers are set then i will consider private money to be achievable but one of the other mistakes cryptocurrency makes because it is very unserious was doing money before defining what privacy or anonymity means
