they got fucked over in the 1st trump term too, but 85% of them voted for him all 3 times. they rely on immigrant labor (legal and otherwise) to pick their crops but they still signed up for mass deportation 馃ぁ
no other group deserves the "fell for it" award as much as these shitheads
@jiub i'm under the impression that mass deportation serves the purpose of a threat to organized immigrant labor
@hipsterelectron@circumstances.run true, it definitely does to a degree. there have been stories of farmers not paying immigrants then threatening to or actually calling ice on them
but deport too many or make them afraid to show up, and there's no one to pick crops
the status quo before trump 2 was pretty good for farmers, they had a large immigrant labor force they could pay like shit and mistreat but almost no large scale labor organization among them (in part because of the selective threats)
now they can't even get enough workers
@jiub i agree it's not uniform. however i also really do wonder how many of the missing individuals are simply disappeared into slave labor camps somewhere in california

i have no idea tbh, but with ~2/3 of people missing from alligator auchwitz alone i wouldn't be surprised if they were forced into some sort of slave labor
and rfk definitely wants slave labor camps for people with mental illness
