Two things that occur to me when seeing ideas about 'AI for socialism' or 'socialist AI':
1) AI doesn't do science or productivity, it's shoddy simulation & precaritisation 馃ぁ
2) Anyway, a reductive & preemptive epistemology is not a good foundation for a more caring world 馃

@danmcquillan I suspect that genuine propositions of "AI for socialism" come from a fundamental misunderstanding of "AI" ....

@danmcquillan

AIs are means of production, designed to make the need for workers disappear; even worse, the main ones are owned to some of the biggest capitalists in the world.

"Socialist AI" is an oxymoron in a capitalist economy.

Even if every one of us had his own first class AI with total autonomy from any capitalist, the "make workers obsolete" issue would remain.

Unless genAI development gets stagnant, as it happened with all previous AI waves, the only way to avoid it being catastrophic for 99% of people is making all of us owners of the means of production, AI or non AI.
