The ISO codes IO and DG will continue to exist as said and be returned from Great Britain to Mauritius / retain autonomy.
How should the fedi deal with this given that we should always have one "valid" identifier for each country?
"British Overseas Territories" sounds wrong later for 2 autonomous atolls.

Well, did not understand the scope of the geosocial group probably, sorry. In yesterday Social CG dev meeting we built a Geo SIG for Social CG now. Normally there is an official „remit“ for each group in w3c minutes (?) Also we couldn’t find a Forum WG nor adoring CG yet https://www.w3.org/groups/cg/?search=Forum+wg

Many people use ISO tags as hashtags.
E.g. #US or #DE
I mean, even if it is not an example with many people, geoscientists at least use it:
If we assign for example "XC" for Chagos Atoll and Diego Garcia now all our relays would know that #IO and #XC has the same meaning.
Then the "British Overseas Territory" aka "IO" does not exist anymore but if people want to continue about the Atolls they could simply use "XC".
Our fedi softwares which I now described/linked several times will be a huge geo and knowledge provider for fedi (for free cause hosted by German official yellow cabs and all the Public Broadcasters in the Incubator) …
Normally we do have a meeting in the IPTC (Int. Press TC Counil) and speak about it, e.g. 34 years ago "XS" and "XF" and 19 years ago "XK" for Kosovo which was _the only_ case yet basically :)
Just wanted to know what fedi people think.
