@Antigrav @jeremy_pm seems like simple idiocy + corruption to me.
@Antigrav @jeremy_pm This feels like the perfect time for the "Why not both?" meme.
The reality is China is now leading the world in new solar technology with the costs of production and installation reducing substantially making it a far more economic option than thermal generation. It’s also rapidly becoming along with battery tech a more efficient system of power generation.
Meanwhile the drill baby drill USA fossil fuel sector has been pushing for LNG to be the future of electricity generation and is competing with China’s renewable energy industry for business.
Join the dots.
@debe @Antigrav @jeremy_pm anti Māori racism made it so our water infrastructure would be doomed.
It would not be surprising if anti China racism also locks us into the worst energy deal possible.
@Antigrav @jeremy_pm @pezmico It's almost as if being racist makes you dumber. Or maybe vice versa. I mean, seriously, how stupid do you have to be condemn your children, grandchildren, etc into a disruptive future just because you irrationally hate people for the colour of their skin?
As a fiction writer, I try to wrap my head around how these people get to this thought pattern, but it's really hard!
