how do you determine the dividing line between “i only want to act in a way that’s coherent with a grounding philosophy” and “i’m rationalizing excuses to do or not do something”
@piarji Tentatively, the difference is whether you actually address criticisms of your reasoning (vs. using rhetorical tricks to avoid addressing it).
I feel like this practice should be a whole area of study that every kid should learn in school (and we've got a lot of remedial teaching to do).
