“You can’t have data extracted from a phone that you don’t have on you,” EFF’s Bill Budington told Fast Company. “Bringing a secondary device, one that can capture footage in high quality, for instance, is a good suggestion.” https://www.fastcompany.com/91481220/you-have-a-right-to-record-ice-agents-heres-how-to-protect-your-phone-and-yourself

@eff About 20 years ago, I used to record bits of protests using an app that's since been shuttered. It recorded to my local device at the same time as streaming to a cloud server as backup. (You could also set the streams to be public, but I generally didn't do that, because other people might not want their faces in shot.)

Does anything similar exist now? So if you record a cop stealing your phone, you have evidence in the cloud?

@eff you don't actually need a phone.
