Danish really is a strange language. As this graphic shows, the Danish word "nå" has 12 different meanings, if not more.

You may think that cannot be true, but as a Dane I can confirm this is no exaggeration.

It is all about various tonal changes in the pronounciation, but essentially it is the same word used for 12 different meanings. Not unlike how "right" can both be a direction or the opposite of wrong or an expression of disbelief as in "Riiiiiiiight".

@randahl In American English, 'dude' has similar traits.

@randahl Very interesting. 'right' sounds indeed like a good example.

By the way, would it be an option to add #alttext to the image? I am happy to share the post when the image contains alt text.

@isol @randahl
That is not an A, it's a completely separate letter. Nå is pronounced closer to the English "no", than to "na" used in the Batman theme - but not quite like no.

In fact, the two letters couldn't be further apart. A is the first letter of the Danish alphabet and Å is the last.

@leeloo
Å is the vowel sound you make in the beginning when pronouncing "awesome".
