I hear this a lot from people who don’t use the 3M Aura. But I tried it during the pandemic, when it came out as best model in all the tests I read, particularly one that tested masks for children. None of these were suitable because they made breathing so hard, and children have smaller lungs even when their faces are already roughly adult size.
The only mask that could be recommended for them was the Aura. It’s also the one that people in the labs here wear all day who work with viruses and other contagious stuff. I like that it doesn’t hurt behind my ears, too. It used to be expensive but some online shops ship it for as little as 0.80 euros a piece now.
There also are Aura models with a valve to make exhaling easier. I haven’t tried those yet because I didn’t have to wear one on the bike because of poor air quality until recently. but I’m going to order some of those as well next time.
