I just got feedback from a student that they deemed working with #Drupal more intuitive than #WordPress
This is an absolute first in teaching a CMS course since 2018.
Of course it is anecdotal but I really feel like it confirms my impression that FSE has totally eroded the proclaimed simplicity of using WordPress.

@kraftner In that regard #ClassicPress seems to be a good alterantive.
@linos This is very opinionated, but to me it really isn't: The whole project is like a grumpy child that sits down and refuses to walk on because it doesn't like where the group is heading. WordPress needs modernization, refusing any and all modernization and just blocking any and all major changes won't help. Also forking WP like that leaves you with the worst part (the code) while you loose all the good parts (community, ecosystem, name). I can understand the motivation but it is a dead end.
